Mayor Ken Tucker requested Town Attorney Vance McCown to read the Annexation Ordinance. Upon completion of his reading the ordinance, Councilman Ellis Fincher moved that the annexation ordinance be adopted, this was seconded by Councilman Herbert Lee Rickenbacker, Jr. and passed unanimously. The effective date of the Annexation is June 1,1982. At this time all the services provided by the Town will be extended to the newly annexed areas, pending judicial review by the N. C. Superior Court if petitioned by those in opposition. The regular meeting of the Town Council will be Monday, April 12th at 7:30 p.m. A New Arrival Mr. and Mrs. John Brady (Jenny Farrar) of Greer, S. Tryon Graduation Is June 3rd In the 5 April 1982 Tryon Board of Education meeting, Carroll Scoggins up-dated the auditorium renovation final activities. The check-off list is being completed. Superintendent Dusenbury reported that the kick-off meeting of math teachers for the Systematic Teaching and Measuring Mathematics program has been held. It is hoped that it will be used in grades 1-8 by the end of the year, and it is expected to be used 1—12 by fall.
